In my research I try to understand the evolution of the cryosphere during past ice ages and its interaction with the Earth system. I approach this question through modeling solid Earth processes such as glacial isostatic adjustment and mantle convection and combining this modeling with field observations. In addition to improving our understanding of past climatic events this research helps to constrain the Earth's internal structure and rheology.
